Dr. Nyasha Maforo received her Ph.D. from UCLA in the Physics and Biology in Medicine (PBM) program. Her research focused on cardiac MRI biomarkers of microstructural remodeling in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), with a particular emphasis on the design and analysis of diffusion MRI techniques. Prior to UCLA, she participated in an NIH-funded Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP) at the University of Chicago, where she worked on quantitative radiomics using multi-parametric breast MRI. She earned her B.S. in Physics from Fort Hays State University in 2015.
