About
Dr. Tess Armstrong received her Ph.D. from UCLA, where her research focused on developing novel quantitative imaging techniques for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Her work centered on creating advanced pulse sequences and reconstruction methods for fat/water separation and quantification, with applications in diagnosing and evaluating diseases such as cancer in the liver, breast, and other organs. Prior to her Ph.D., she earned dual B.S. degrees in Physics and Engineering Science from the University of Miami in 2012. She conducted undergraduate research at the Stanford University Medical Center through the AAPM Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship, working with Dr. Sonja Dieterich on radiation therapy dose analysis. She also worked with Dr. Neil Johnson at the University of Miami on differential equation models of arrhythmia growth.
